You can leave a lasting legacy by making a gift to ChildCare International in your will.  You can do this by:

• making a bequest of a specific amount, or
• making a bequest of a percentage of the residue of your estate.

When leaving a legacy gift, tax receipts for the full amount of your donation may offset capital gains or other taxes.

Sample wording to make a gift in your will

Proper wording is vital when making a gift in your will. ChildCare International recommends the following will clauses for your use:

Bequest of a specific amount – Child Sponsorship Program:

“I direct my Trustee to pay $__________ dollars to CHILDCARE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY, registered Canadian charitable organization number 119150035 RR 0001, having an office at  #204 – 5460 152 Street, Surrey, British Columbia V3S 5J9, for its child sponsorship program. The receipt of an appropriate officer of Childcare International Society shall be a sufficient discharge of my Trustee(s).”

Bequest of a specific amount – General Purposes:

“I direct my Trustee to pay $__________ dollars to CHILDCARE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY, registered Canadian charitable organization number 119150035 RR 0001, having an office at  #204 – 5460 152 Street, Surrey, British Columbia V3S 5J9, for its general purposes. The receipt of an appropriate officer of Childcare International Society shall be a sufficient discharge of my Trustee(s).”

Bequest of residue – Child Sponsorship Program:

“I direct my Trustee to pay __________ (insert percentage) of the residue of my estate to CHILDCARE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY, registered Canadian charitable organization number 119150035 RR 0001, having an office at 204 – 5460 152 Street, Surrey, British Columbia V3S 5J9, for its child sponsorship program. The receipt of an appropriate officer of Childcare International Society shall be a sufficient discharge of my Trustee(s).”

Bequest of residue – General Purposes:

 “I direct my Trustee to pay __________ (insert percentage) of the residue of my estate to CHILDCARE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY, registered Canadian charitable organization number 119150035 RR 0001, having an office at 204 – 5460 152 Street, Surrey, British Columbia V3S 5J9, for its general purposes. The receipt of an appropriate officer of Childcare International Society shall be a sufficient discharge of my Trustee(s).”
