Sponsorship Representative

 Reports to: Executive Director of ChildCare INTERNATIONAL

Position Type: Full Time

Summary: The Sponsorship Representative (SR) is accountable to the Executive Director for the implementation and management of effective and efficient operations of sponsorship acquisitions. The SR works closely with other CCI team members and participates in CCI’s overall growth strategy. His / her primary responsibility is building relationships with Pastors, Churches, Speakers, Volunteers and other Christian influencers in Canada, with the goal of increasing the number of sponsorships and/or donations to CCI.

Work location: The SR may be based in any province. If outside of B.C., occasional travel to B.C. is required.

 Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for connecting and building relationships with Pastors, Ministry leaders and volunteers. The primary function is to acquire new sponsorships and donations that contribute to CCI’s ministry goals
  • Create and establish plans and strategies to expand CCI’s donor/sponsor base through new marketing initiatives
  • Prepare action plans and effective search of leads, to acquire new sponsors and donors. Build support primarily from individuals, secondarily from churches, educational institutions, and businesses.
  • Develop a business plan and sponsorship growth strategy for the market that ensures attainment of CCI’s growth goals and fiscal financial responsibility.
  • Collaborate with the CCI team members in the development and implementation of marketing plans and create proposals to offer to churches and donors
  • Manage expenses to meet budget guidelines set out by the ED
  • Create and conduct public presentations in order to provide audiences with opportunities to give financially to CCI
  • Direct all incoming Sponsorships to office staff responsible for administering new sponsors/donors
  • Track performance goals
  • Develop relationships with churches and create proposals that consider their passions, interests, motivations, giving patterns and preferences
  • Report back to churches on how their giving made a difference using materials, information and reports generated by the CCI team
  • Occasionally, lead vision trips for groups and church leaders to see partner communities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Committed to CCI’s mission and purpose
  • Integrity, high moral standards, commitment, ethical behaviour
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sponsorship/gift fundraising efforts
  • Demonstrated positive track record of meeting fundraising targets and goals
  • Working knowledge of church denominations and trends in Canadian Christian culture. Knowledge of ministry and the non-profit sector
  • Good relationships with peers and management and maintains a positive and constructive attitude while solving challenges. A team player who protects the mission, goals and values of CCI
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, goal and outcome-oriented
  • Gifted public and written communicator. Professional attitude with the ability to tell compelling stories to diverse audiences
  • Able to report on key performance indicators, recognize marketing trends, and identify issues and opportunities on a regular basis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Outlook and the ability to learn and use database software as required
  • Open to regional and international travel, maintaining a valid passport
  • Sales and/or Church Ministry leadership experience preferred
  • Comfortable presenting in churches, boardrooms and one-on-one interactions with a diverse mix of supporters, stakeholders and cultures
  • Able to work from home depending on location, working independently with minimum supervision
  • Flexible: sometimes schedules will need to be adjusted to accomplish targets & goals; not strictly a Mon – Fri /9-5 workday
  • University/college graduate degree or the equivalent in training & experience
  • Planned / legacy giving programs experience desirable
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Understanding of the local Christian community / good network connections
