Meeting children’s needs in these pressing times
As people around the world sense mounting pressure on the global economy, those living in very poor countries are feeling the worst of it.
Fuel shortages, severe weather, impending food shortages and political upheaval are sparking unrest in many countries. ChildCare International (CCI) is working closely with our partners to monitor the situation for our sponsored children, especially those in Africa, Sri Lanka and Haiti, which are being hardest hit.
According to the World Food Programme, 828 million people go to bed hungry every night, while 345 million people are facing severe food insecurity. With the ongoing war in the Ukraine, the world is heading towards a hunger crisis, which will affect people’s cost of living in wealthy nations. In low-income countries, it can lead to starvation.
Now more than ever, we so appreciate our donors who are making a difference for the more than 2,500 children sponsored through CCI in Asia, Latin America, and Africa. While the situation is dire for some, our sponsored children and their families continue to receive their basic necessities, clean water, medical care, and an education. Thank you for making this possible!
Gifts made to our where most needed fund and to the unsponsored children’s fund help meet our most immediate needs in pressing times like these. Most of all, we covet your prayers for our partners, sponsored children and the countries they live in.
